Westview's Music Man

We went and saw Westview’s Music Man on Friday.  Melissa looked gorgeous as she was all dressed up for the pit pictures and for when they got to parade across the stage for their bow (wasn’t really a bow, just a walk across and down to the pit). We really enjoyed the performance.  Dad is always surprised at the level of talent there is at a high school.  I enjoyed several of the kids from our ward and stake.  The pit sounded great too.

(I hemmed it and used the portion I cut off to make straps.)

It's Back to School Again!

Well, its off to school again! Jessica is a Senior, Melissa a Sophomore, and Rachel is beginning her last year in middle school as a 8th grader. The other night when Rachel was off getting her schedule and I sat there at the middle school talking with a friend, we counted up my consecutive years at Meadow Park Middle School: 10! And half of those had been with more than one child there. It is the end of an other era. Time flies by, and the kids keep growing up. Two kids in college, two in high school, and the youngest not a little kid anymore. They are all growing up to be wonderful young adults. I am so very, very proud of them!

Rachel ready to head off for the 8:35am bus.
Melissa ready for her Sophmore year.
Jessica eager for her Senior year- one AP paper already written and ready to be turned in.

Back to School 2009-10

The new school year for us has finally begun! Here are the kids going off to their first day of classes on September 8th, 2009:
Kevin is now a Senior!

Jessica is a Junior!
Melissa is now a
Freshman in High School!
The High Schoolers load up the Mormon assault vehicle (as it is lovingly called by the kids). Notice the new paint job that Kevin and his church and band buddies gave it. No more rust!
Rachel is now a 7th Grader.
Here she is sporting her cute hat and tie that she got at the band garage sale. She couldn't wear the hat to school (no hat rule), and her tie was later covered up by her sweatshirt.
Here is what she looked like going out the door to the bus stop.

Have FUN at School kids!
P.S. Just so you know, Jennifer is home too- just sleeping in. She has enrolled in a Painting Class and a Drawing Class at Portland Community College for the fall Semester. I'll try to get a picture of her first day too which is Sept. 21
